About Rotary Club of Solukhumbu

The Rotary Club of Solukhumbu is a remarkable community-driven organization based in Nepal’s Everest region, home to Mount Everest. As one of the world’s highest Rotary clubs, it serves remote Himalayan communities where access to basic services and opportunities can often be challenging.

The club is deeply committed to creating meaningful and lasting impact through a range of initiatives. Its work focuses on girls’ education, supporting children’s access to schooling, addressing climate change, strengthening agriculture, empowering women, organizing free medical camps, and building strong fellowship within the community. These efforts are not just programs—they are lifelines that help communities grow stronger and more resilient.

What truly makes the Rotary Club of Solukhumbu unique is its leadership and approach. The club is proudly led by local leaders—many of them women—who understand the realities, culture, and challenges of their own communities. This local leadership brings authenticity, awareness, and deep connection to every initiative.

Rather than imposing external ideas, the club believes in listening first. Members sit together with community members, often over a simple cup of tea, sharing stories, culture, and perspectives. Through these conversations, they identify real needs and co-create solutions that are practical, respectful, and sustainable. With the right tools, support, and collaboration, these locally rooted solutions create long-term impact.

In essence, the Rotary Club of Solukhumbu is not just delivering aid—it is building partnerships, empowering people, and nurturing change from within the community itself.
